The Impact of Machine Learning on My Research Agenda
Machine learning has been transformative for my research agenda. It really began years ago when I first applied this to consumer credit problems, trying to understand whether certain consumers would default on their credit card debt and others would not. And it's just amazing how effective they are. But ultimately, there has to be some kind of coming together between statisticians and computer scientists because obviously both individuals deal with data.
