The Importance of Lived Experiences in the Media
Dean Obeidallah: There is valid criticism of a lack of self awareness and thin skinness in the media. Is it possible to separate your lived experiences from your coverage? Heberman: I think living experience is important, making room for it in newsrooms is important. A young generation of journalists who are multicultural themselves don't want to just check their perspective at the door.
