How to Cultivate Seaweed
In zanzibar, the traditional way to cultivate seaweed is in shallow waters. Farmers attach sheweed cuttings to ropes that are up to ten meters long. The ropes are stretched between wooden pegs and driven into the sea bed. They have a murky, dark green colour, a stark contrast to the glistening turquoise water they sit in.
