Jeremiah's name is an expression of what Jehovah does for us. He has no desire to constrain or control anyone, he just wants them to have joy. So you watch loved ones who just make unhealthy choices because they are relying on things that are inconsistent. And I can imagine Jeremiah feeling despondent that here his name represents what God says God can offer people.
