How to Create Inflaton Particles?

The inplaton existed when the universe was ten to the negative 30 times smaller. You'd need some ridiculously large particle accelerator to ever recreate these conditions. So then, could we ever test whether this ipleton exists? Or we have to rely on theoretical work we can test to see if it left an imprint on the universe? There are theories about the gravitational waves that were left by inflation. And so if we listen really, really fuly for these gravitational waves, we might be able to detect those that come from the early universe.
