Why Do Molecules Repell?
Molecules do not pass through one another because electromagnetic forces prevent it. Anytime two things contact, they're molecules that exchange. So if you take your hand and just rub it across the surface, we just keep doing it. There's friction and your hand warms up. Those are molecules trading back and forth.
