The 12 minute method is about finding 12 minutes a week to work on the thing that's important to you. It worked well for me at first that it was dependent on the train, which I was going to do anyway. The timer creates a separation really where they can't think about anything else. And if we want to keep doing something for a long time, we can really focus on who we are and what we want to be.
