The Roman Astrological Week
Gospel of Mark says that Jesus was crucified on Friday, because it's the day before the Sabbath. Roman planetary week had seven days named after planets or gods associated with them. This is something we see evidence of in Rome and other parts of Italy. It appears to have served a primarily astrological informative purpose.
