The Importance of Memorials for the Holocaust
I don't think there's any permanent at least official commemorations for the pandemic yet which might be essential for keeping these memories alive. The first remembrance day was in 1951 like many years after the Holocaust had ended and it was only mandated as part of an official commemoration ceremony in 1959 more than a decade. If you look at surveys of people who are younger and are getting farther and farther from when it happened there are more people who don't believe it despite all these efforts.
