What I've Learned From Doug Dowd's Program on KPFA
I remember my first visit to Berkeley in 1978 and I was staying with friends who listened regularly to programs on KPFA. Once it would be stuff in the background rather the way a lot of podcasts are listened to now while doing other things but there was very definitely a sense of a community. For example everything had to stop when Doug Dowd who I think of in a way that you and Ciesa continue as various strands of commentary and dialogue on Pacifica. Louis Hill one of the Troika of the founders happened to be graced with a wonderful baritone radio voice. He was also a poet and an existentialist, a poet like Dick Moore,. so very strong series of long term
