My Father Was Killed, Is That What You Think?
The poet's father was shot and killed by a man who asked him for anabiotics. She says she has started to do research into the incident, which is "agonizing and frustrating work" The poems are inspired by her experiences as a child being parented; they're also about her relationship with her parents.
