Residents of Adelaide took Gerard Croissette's word as gospel, believing he had uncovered the final resting place of Jane, Anna and Grant Beaumont. The South Australian government deliberated whether to dig up the warehouse's concrete floor using taxpayer money based on nothing more than a psychic premonition. It was decided that an excavation of the concrete flooring would not go ahead. A citizen action committee bended together to conduct a public survey in support of the excavation and raised $7,000 to fund the project.
