"I grew up watching wrestling with my uncle. I still loved watching it because the story lines were so great," she says. "It's a soap opera of like Roman gladiators and combat and solidarity and enemies." The idea that men can join together and compete cooperatively is at the heart of Wrestling, he adds. "[Wrestling] has always done very well in focusing on brother relationships," writes Sutter.
