Inventors were committed to providing the means for where is to participate in all kinds of sports and to be able to shift and transform their garments depending on the situational context. The inventions that we found in the archive weren't just hidden in plain sight like the divided skirt. They were also convertible, they were multiple, combinable, reversible and invisible. Inventor Edith Foltz invented a convertible costume for pilots and she also suggested it was useful for a range of outdoor activities such as horse riding, hiking, camping, hunting and fishing.
