Katherine Werner, a Commerce Department employee at the US Embassy in China, was jolted awake one night by a pulsing humming sound that she said seemed to be coming from a particular direction. This went on for months and was causing her headaches, dizziness, and vomiting. She thought her health issues might be stemming from the terrible air quality. To artificially display all of these symptoms, you'd have to actually go and research, practice, be the most consummate actor ever and convince one expert after another.
