Caesarea Philippi: A Place of Superstition
The River Jordan is the river that starts nowhere in finishes nowhere, and it's a most amazing sight. It just looks like a river as wide as this room or wider coming straight out of the cliff. The snow on the top of Mount Hermon melts and comes down a crack inside the mountain to form the river. In those alcoves they used to put statues of gods - one was a statue of the Greek god Pan. And we have a statue of Caesar who is already being called a god. Jesus took his twelve disciples to this very place and said, who do men say that I am? Now can you see now why it had to be here?
