The NHS gets a doctor on the cheap with the caveat that they may then have to be deployed. But in the case of ophthalmologist, that's relatively rare currently. So, you know, I think everyone gets a good deal out of it. It is more because more with no offense to my civilian colleagues, more is expected of us. If we were paid exactly the same as our civilian colleagues, then there'd be probably very few people volunteering to be in the military.
