The Importance of Aspirational Values
Gene Yabra: Thomas Jefferson was a man of his time, inherited the problem of slavery. He indicted himself when he wrote the first two paragraphs of the Declaration of Independence,. And those two opening paragraphs are what really made Jefferson's words immortal. They still to this day serve as a rallying cry to oppressed peoples. So can we say that Thomas Jefferson does represent our values? And Thomas Jefferson helped make our values.
