COVID - The Chinese Government's Response to Omicron
Omicron spread so much more quickly than previously thought. The Chinese government was seeing these like really big outbreaks particularly in Shanghai and other major cities caused by Omicron. They were adopting increasingly draconian policies to try and contain it. But the urban Chinese turned against the zero COVID policy over the course of the year, especially after the big Shanghai lockdown when food was running low.
