The Challenges of Netflix's Business Model
Netflix is looking at that model and saying, if we make a good deal and we get an actor for $4 million and it's a giant hit, then he should be able to ask for it. That's exactly what the actors and writers should be seeking for for residuals from shows. It doesn't have to be every last little metric and they certainly don't want the stuff to be public. But there's a way to monitor it much like television's monitored by Nielsen.
