How to Live Closer to Your Values Without as Much Effort
For me, it's Sabbath. My wife and I happened to buy a house in a predominantly Orthodox Jewish community. And basically every Friday night after service was just like a slumber party at their house. In our own sort of weak, modern Christian sort of way, we've taken up a Sabbath practice as a family. We do it in sync with our neighborhood, sundown to sundown Friday to Saturday. That has just changed my own sense of my own importance,. that there is like whatever I'm doing can be put down for 24 hours, like the work will go on.
