Judge Cannon set a trial date in August. The government says December, that is four months past the speedy trial deadline. That would not qualify as an expedited trial. They are telling you right now with this boring scheduling order that if they can't convince Judge Cannon to bone this case somehow, they're going to plaster the docket with motions and interlocutory appeals In hopes of running out the clock. And considering the reception that got last time with Judge Cannon is really not a terrible idea.
