The Rise of Artificial Intelligence
I've really seen it often on throughout the last 20 years. For me, it's Daniel Kahneman's work thinking fast and slow. He breaks our ability to think down into two systems. System one is that kind of automatic, quick, little to no effort reaction to what we see in our immediate surroundings. And then system two is where we're allocating attention to effortful mental activities such as complex computation or concentration. So I think artificial intelligence is the deliberate effort by humans to build what I think of as system three.
