The Police's First Real Lead in the Search of Ben and Olivia

Gerald had gathered up some friends and wanted to conduct searches of his own in the sounds. The authorities encouraged him to stay out of their way, worried that he was being led astray by rumors rather than facts. Eventually they scored their first real lead when bartender Guy Wallace helped bring some revelers home after a New Year's party. He described them as drunk but not overly intoxicated. They didn't seem to be totally out of control and were at least lucid enough to have a conversation.
