Was It a Big Learning Curve to Be a Senator?

When you were first lady of New York, it was a very big learning curve to be in a position that was totally vicarious. After the 19 98 mid term elections, when then senator moinahan said he wasn't going to run again, Immediately, democrats in new york started calling me asking me to run. And i'll tell you at the exact moment that it all came together. I had no idea that i would ever actually run for office.
