The Importance of Inner Development
We must not believe that any tumultuous processes, sorcery and the like, can lead a person to develop these sense organs. It is merely intimate processes, learning within thoughts, which have the power within themselves to develop such organs. We do not seek inner development for ourselves, but as workers in the great service of humanity. There were always people who hurried ahead. We have to learn from them. If we are afraid of bowing to authority, that is uncharitable nonsense. To work in the sense of the teachers of humanity, to seek out those who can guide us,. That is what is first and absolutely necessary for the occult teacher, as well as the pupil.
