The Bread of the Presence

Jesus is alluding to a story in the historical books, right? In 2 Samuel where David is on the run and David ends up being given to eat this holy bread. This was a sacred bread only the priests could eat but David is allowed to eat it. And so when you see David, David remember was now the captain of the guard of King Saul. It reminds me of the time when Athanasius was fleeing from the emperor and the imperial army for staying up for orthodoxy.
