The Creed of the Sea - The White Bull From the Surf

On the isle of crete, there is a king who desires above all else to insure and extend his reign. So he asks the sea god to deliver up a sign of his divine right to rule as well as a proper beast of sacrifice. He delivers up this white bull from the surf - it's as white as the frothing sea foam itself. And this beast comes to be known as the cretan bull. I think even this aspect of the myth is very interesting, because what he does is ask poseidon to send him a bull that he can then turn around and sacrifice to poseidon. E, so he'd just be sort of returning the favor, in a way.
