The Hajj of Ibn Batuta

Ibn Batuta reached Mecca in October of 1326, riding into the city on a camel. The Hajj takes place over a five to six day period in the 12th month of the Islamic calendar. Today more than 2 million people go to Mecca each year for the Hajj. In his writings he describes these ceremonies and places and events. There was the stoning of a devil, a journey to Mount Arafat and sacrificing of animals.
