I would not be using the prong to correct personally. It's about having a full treatment plan for this lunging issue with a professional who's there to help you. I also wonder if the joint issues that you're citing can't be addressed in such a way that an, ah, two points of connection, like balance harness couldn't be used. Very few dogs that i see can't actually wear a harness. If it' if it's the appropriate type of harness. The most restrictive i would probably use is a freedom harness. So you can check out those brands.
