Pharrell Williams' cousin Timothy followed his own path out of high school. The future Timbaland was even more of a studio rat than Pharrell. He set up a mixing board in his bedroom and worked on beats endlessly when he wasn't DJing parties as DJ Timmy Tim. In his memoir, The Emperor of Sound, Timbaland admits he probably would have started producing new Jack Swing tracks if he could have afforded an emu sampler and an 808 drum machine.
