The Fine Tuning of Gravity
In the case of gravity, let's suppose you started increasing a gravity. The first thing that would happen is the surface force on any plan like ours would increase. And at some point you'd have to shrink it so much that you couldn't have an eco. But long before that happened, something else would happen. You can only shrink it at the square root of the increase in the strength of gravity. So if you do that, add the two together, the gravitational potential, energy of the planet will decrease by factor of four. That's really important, because if you don't have that gravitational potential, you will lose your atmosphere. Very quickly you would lose its atmosphere.
