Exploring the Moon's Geological History
One of the things that excite scientists about returning there is that they might find ancient rocks from the earth. Doctor geoffrey cargell, who is a senior scientist with the planetary science institute in teuson arizona says meteorites could contain 450 million years of earth history. The moon may contain this evidence of the earth's very early evolution when life was just getting a foothold on earth. Maybe there were global ice ages. We don't know about. This important chapter, really, even a full book of earth history that has been erased,. but might be picked up by astronauts walking and roving around on the moon and taking drill cores.
