In the early nineteenth century, many people had no choice but to work in huge factories. The pay was very low, and the work conditions were often miserable and dangerous. Nobody knew how to fix this. This was just the way the market worked. That was mark's whole point. It's not that people along factories are cruel, even though we described them as cruel. It's just that they have to do that to compete. You start paying your workers more than subsistence, you're going youare going to out price yourself in the market. And that arises out of hegel. So in brittain, they didn't think that way. All the revolutions on the continent were suppressed
