What Is the Relationship Between Pre-Historic Languages and Agriculture?

It doesn't take languages very long to splinter into things that are mutually not intelligible in the grand scheme of things. If there is one thing I would dearly like to know more about, it is pre-historic language. Why did agriculture emerge at roughly the same time in far-flung corners of the world? Was it climatic? After the Younger Dryas, the Holocene climate that emerged was warmer and wetter. It made sedentism a more viable residential strategy for groups much more widely than it had been before.
