Hospital's risk manager told Amy not to be talking to detectives without a hospital administrator or someone that was representing her. She also wanted me to talk to her if the detectives did reach out. When I hung up the phone, I simply said to the detectives, let's get him because I knew at that moment that the hospital was going to do everything that they could to support themselves and not to take care of those patients. And I was angry. What was he like on the phone? Quiet, funny, sad, very, very sad. Mostly he was pretty darn depressed.

When Amy Loughren started working as a nurse at Somerset Medical Center, she did everything she could to hide the fact that she had a heart condition. And then, another nurse named Charles Cullen discovered Amy’s secret. He told her that he would keep it, but she didn’t know that he was keeping his own secret too.
