Days of Heaven and Badlands

I didn't want it to be like dreary or have a feel of a black and white image, because we forget that even though we see black and white images from like the 1920s in reality, they were colorful. We really wanted to tap into rich colors. There's lots of yellows in both the costumes and inside the columns house. And we wanted a vibrancy to the cinema of it too. Did you look at any movies for inspiration either about this time or the tone of the story? I always go back to days of heaven and badlands.
