My time in rowanda taught me that the opposite of poverty isn't the income. The opposite of poverty is dignity, its choicest opportunities and freedom to make decisions about your own lives. That was what was too often stripped by nary markets and by top down development. And that dependency, it took away something which you talk about so much, that is so important to you, dignity. So rolling the clock forward a few years, round about the turn of the millennium, you were dreaming of trying to build something that avoided, you know, what was wrong with banking and what was wrong with traditional charity.
