The assassination of julius caesar is really the last ditch effort to stop this long trend that's been going on for a hundred years. There was a lot more thought and a lot more support built up against caesar before he was finally knifed. And i think t in a way, it's almost the more symbolic parts of this that really rub the senate up the wrong way. So sos like the assassination happened too late.
