The Importance of Personhood
When we're beginning to categorize this person thing, human robot, I mean, what are the sort of properties that we should be looking at? Are they internal properties? I do we think the thing or the object has consciousness or an ability to suffer? Or should we be looking at those sort of extrinsic, the external social circumstances, the relationships that you were referring to earlier? So this brings us to a second important binary in our way of thinking. Personhood is conveniently divided into natural and legal person.
