Cardo Vascular Mortality Increases With Increase in Expiratory Volume in One Second

Patients with mild to moderate c o p d are eight to ten times more likely to die from atheros chloradic cardio vascular disease than respiratory failure. C o p d has several effects on the vasculature, which creates a pro coagulant, not anti coagulate effect on all vascular beds. This is associated with increased risk of cognitive impairment due to cerebral micro vascular damage and scemic an hemorrhagic stroke. There is a 28 % increase in cardio vascular mortality for every ten% decrease in forced expiratory volume or f e v one.
