The History of Beef Noodle Soup in Taiwan
Some of the best beef noodle soup restaurants back then have also since closed. One restaurant that's still open in Wang's book is a place called Lao Sen Dong. It was opened around the time when beef started to become more popular in Taiwan. For generations of Taiwanese families, cows, especially oxen, were considered valuable farming tools and many families saw them as part of the family.
