Stoke City always had a two-pronged approach to recruitment. Recruiting and retaining elite players was the central aim, with developing staff as second. The club wanted their development programs in place so that people would recognise they were going to grow if they came to work there. Brighton do it really well now in terms of player recruitment - you either go into the first team at Brighton or you're a stepping stone for them. So based on your career experiences so far, what advice would you give to someone looking to follow a similar path in the football industry?
