The Good Guy in Romans: Partacus
The idea of a slave rebellion, i think, is terrifying to the romans. And plutarch's account of spartacus while being about crassus, the man who defeated spartacus, very much treatsspa us,. liked the good guy in the story, i suppose. So why does rome build up spartacus so much as an enemy? Is it in their interest to draw attention to the rebellion? It isn't, isn't it? I suppose that he claims that he's defeated spartacan. Why?
