Joy is how we ascribe honor to who God is if the core of his being. Bart again, called joy the simplest form of gratitude. There's a thread of Gnosticism and this attempt to kind of marginalize or vacate the body that runs through the history of the church. But it is thoroughly unbiblical. The reality is a holy sensuality.
