I was given a seat right on stage at the Berkeley amphitheater in the role that they reserved for celebrities and who should come and sit right down by me. David Byrne would never been to a grateful dead show. So he wanted to hear all about the grateful dead. I gave him a primer on the grateful dead because after the show was over, he had special entree backstage. And what did he think of the show? He's loved it. He loved the show. The Grateful Dead's music is sort of the polar opposite of talking heads. But there is a discipline in that meandering.
