Don't Judge Hypocritically, but Judge With Right Judgment
In the new testament, there's a sense of protecting the church from contagion. Sin is contagious and so it must be dealt with. We are to confront each other in our sin - this is throughout scripture. So what jesus says is we shouldn't judge hypocritically. And i tell the story in the book of ah having i went through several years of fighting and eating disorder when i was in the christian music industry. One of my bandmates knew something was going on but she just couldn't let it go. She judged me because she loved me, and probably saved my life.
