The Evolution of the Seawater Chemistry
Joe Botting and Lucy Muhrer studied fossils from a volcanic island complex in the Cambrian. They found that many of the animals were juveniles, much smaller than they are today. The scientists think there may have been an ecosystem attached to undersea boulders where small creatures could fit into ecological niches. Alan asked how long does evolution take?
