Damon Binder: Are there any reasons to expect digital minds to be like a pretty serious deal once they become possible? He says we could build universes with completely alien planets that are nothing like ours currently and do it in a better same world of physics. But if such simulated worlds outnumbered the worlds which are doing the simulation or what are doing the simulations, who's to say we're not in such a world already? he asks.
