How to Avoid Driving in a Mountainous Area
Don't pick up the rental cars until you absolutely have to. If you're doing a Florence Venice road trip, for example, and you want to do a day in the Tuscan countryside, just rent the car for the day from outside of the city. Stick to highways through rural areas like Tuscany and Oumbria stick to the highways. Download that GPS route ahead of time and have a paper map because your signal could cut out.
